About Givenchy

Founded in 1952 by fashion icon Hubert de Givenchy, the French luxury house originated as a couture line before expanding into accessories. Givenchy's first handbag designs in the late 1950s were made to complement the brand's glamorous gowns, like sleek clutches and structured top-handle bags.

The Pandora bag, launched in 2006, epitomizes the label's unconventional and avant-garde aesthetic. With its slouchy shape, chunky zippers and wrinkled leather, the Pandora became an instant 'it' bag and paved the way for Givenchy's modern, edgy styles.

Givenchy aims to push boundaries in fashion while upholding founder Hubert de Givenchy's standard of elegance and sophistication. Creative director Riccardo Tisci has carried on this vision since 2005 by infusing dark romanticism and urban attitude into the House's haute creations.

Under Riccardo Tisci's direction, Givenchy handbags have transitioned from prim and proper to grungy glam. The industrial-inspired Nightingale satchel debuted in 2006 with its eye-catching giant hardware, followed by the rebellious Pandora in 2010. Both encapsulate the House's daring yet refined aesthetic.

The Antigona tote stands out as one of Givenchy's most enduring and iconic handbag styles. Launched in 2010, the structured top-handle tote is defined by its angular shape, minimal branding and versatile design. It has remained a staple for the House through numerous renditions.

Givenchy has engaged in numerous high-profile collaborations with influential names ranging from Jay-Z to Rooney Mara. These diverse partnerships have expanded the brand's reach while staying true to its innate sensibility and Parisian heritage.
