About Mansur gavriel

Mansur Gavriel was founded in 2012 by designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, who met while studying at the Rhode Island School of Design. Mansur had a background in accessories design while Gavriel specialized in apparel. The two friends shared an appreciation for simple, functional pieces constructed from fine materials.

The brand's first handbag collection debuted in 2013 and consisted of two iconic bucket bag styles offered in a range of neutral leather shades. The bags featured a clean exterior with minimal branding paired with a vibrant pop interior lining. This innovative combo of understated luxury outside and playful color inside was an instant hit.

At the core of Mansur Gavriel's design philosophy is a dedication to timeless, versatile pieces. They avoid trends in favor of a refined yet functional aesthetic using luxurious Italian leather and meticulous craftsmanship. This elegant simplicity resonates with the modern, sophisticated woman.

While the bucket bag remains a staple, Mansur Gavriel has expanded into additional silhouettes like totes, crossbody bags, backpacks and small leather goods. The color palette has grown bolder with additions like red, cobalt blue and metallic, while maintaining a tightly edited selection of styles. Recent special collaborations include brands like New Balance and Camper shoes.

A-listers like Alexa Chung, Jessica Alba and Kirsten Dunst have been spotted with the brand's iconic bucket bags. Mansur Gavriel has also tapped influencers to help showcase their collections to a wider digital audience. This high-profile support combined with word-of-mouth buzz has cemented their 'it bag' status.

After early success in the US, Mansur Gavriel continues to expand globally. They now ship to over 50 countries direct-to-consumer via their website and have grown their wholesale presence in boutiques worldwide. This global reach, combined with plans for new retail stores, will further bolster Mansur Gavriel's position as a premier contemporary handbag brand with an effortlessly elegant point of view.
