Founded in Milan in December 2019, Themoire's inception was driven by a commitment to positive change for people and the planet, with a focus on ethical and ecologically responsible practices. The brand aims to create a community interested in planetary welfare, featuring functional elegance and quality in their products.
Themoire's brand philosophy is deeply rooted in environmental responsibility and social values. Inspired by the mythological Moires, Greek goddesses of destiny, the brand endeavors to control the 'mother thread of life' by promoting values of environmental care, integration, and equality.
Sustainability is at the core of Themoire's practices. The brand utilizes sustainable and recyclable materials like Vegan Leather made from PU, cork, raffia, and 100% recycled eco-fur. Innovative materials include eco-leather derived from Nopal Cactus plants and apple industry wastes. Even the linings, threads, and internal labels are made from recycled materials, emphasizing their commitment to environmental protection.
Themoire debuted with the BIOS, a soft and elegant maxi clutch, in late 2019. The BIOS bag, named after the Greek word for 'life', is characterized by its vintage-inspired shapes reinterpreted in a modern and sophisticated manner, setting the tone for the brand's design aesthetic.
In terms of manufacturing, Themoire has introduced innovative materials such as Coffee Material, which repurposes coffee grounds into a sustainable fabric. This innovative approach reflects the brand's dedication to exploring new, eco-friendly production methods.
