The Saint-Sulpice is the best Goyard card holder for carrying a few cards: it is only 0.3 cm thick and gives four cards their own slots. Buy the Bourbon if coins are non-negotiable, the Saint-Pierre if you carry notes, or the Malesherbes if an open case makes you uneasy.
A zipper or flap adds security, but it also adds bulk and slows access. A note pocket makes the Saint-Pierre useful, but it stops feeling ultra-slim. Choose for what is already in your pocket, not what you hope to leave at home.

Which Goyard card holder should you buy?
Buy the Saint-Sulpice for cards and occasional folded notes. Coins rule it out, which is why the Bourbon is the better small-piece compromise for cash users. The Saint-Pierre handles a fuller card-and-note setup, while the Malesherbes suits business cards or anyone who wants a covered opening.

Goyard card-holder models and dimensions
The Saint-Sulpice is a flat, four-slot card case; the Saint-Pierre is a thicker bifold with six card pockets and space for notes. Bourbon adds a zipped coin pocket. Choose the layout before the color or personalization, since each changes what the piece can hold.

The Saint-Thomas, Matignon Mini and Insert Louise solve related carry problems but behave like wallets. Compare those in the broader Goyard wallet guide.
Why the card wallets have Parisian names
Current Goyard product pages explain the models’ Parisian names but do not list individual launch years. The material is much older: Maison Martin began in 1792, François Goyard took over in 1853, and Edmond Goyard created Goyardine in 1892. Its chevrons and Y motif refer to the family name and its log-driving history.
Saint-Sulpice refers to the church in the Odéon district, Saint-Pierre to Marché Saint-Pierre below Montmartre, Saint-Marc to rue Saint-Marc, and Malesherbes to Boulevard Malesherbes. The names supply continuity; the useful buyer distinction is the layout inside each piece.
What fits: cards, coins and notes
Use the named slots as the safe capacity guide. Apart from Insert Louise’s stated capacity of up to 12 cards, Goyard gives slot layouts rather than maximum card counts. Forcing extra cards into one slot stretches the opening and can make cards less secure later.

Business cards suit the Malesherbes main compartment because they stay together under the flap. Receipts are the warning sign: once they become a daily category, you have probably outgrown an open card case.

Preowned prices and condition checks
On July 24, 2026, 15 active U.S. Saint-Sulpice listings tracked by BagUSeek had a median asking price of $575; the middle half ranged from $515 to $622.50. Colors and seller-assigned conditions varied. These were asking prices, not completed sales.
From July 24, 2025 through July 24, 2026, BagUSeek tracked 128 Saint-Sulpice sales at a $645 median and 39 Saint-Pierre sales at a $750 median. Only two Saint-Pierre listings and one Bourbon listing were active on July 24, too few to give an asking-price range.
Fashionphile supplied most of the active listings, with Madison Avenue Couture also represented. The figures cover our tracked listings for the named models; they do not represent every resale shop.

Condition labels are not standardized. Inspect corners, edges, stretched slots, peeling, popped stitches and interior marks. Check zipper function on Bourbon and Matignon Mini and the flap on Malesherbes. Clear photos and a workable return policy matter more than a vague “excellent” label.
How to care for a Goyard card holder
Do not overstuff the slots. Keep Goyardine and its leather trim away from rough surfaces, water, oils, perfume, makeup, damp storage, prolonged light and intense heat. If wet, dab with a soft absorbent cloth; clean routinely with a soft non-pilling cloth and no solvents or cleaning products.
Pocket friction concentrates at corners and edges, so do not carry the piece loose with keys. Empty coin pockets regularly: a Bourbon packed with change and receipts becomes bulky long before the zipper fails.
Goyard versus Louis Vuitton and Hermès
The Saint-Sulpice wins when the goal is the flattest possible cards-first carry. The Louis Vuitton Pocket Organizer costs slightly less and gives bills and papers more separate places, but it is thicker. For coins, the Bourbon provides more card organization than the Hermès Calvi Duo; the Calvi Duo answers with a simpler snap-pocket layout and a slightly smaller footprint.

When to step up to a wallet
Stay with a card holder when every item has a clear slot and you only carry an occasional folded note. Move to a wallet when you carry coins daily, keep receipts, want full perimeter closure, or need cards and notes separated without stacking. The Matignon Mini is the natural zip step-up.
If your pockets are already uncomfortable, a larger wallet will not solve the carry problem. Our Goyard bag guide for men covers small bags and crossbody options.

Bottom line
Buy the Saint-Sulpice unless your real carry says otherwise. Choose Bourbon for coins, Saint-Pierre for notes, Malesherbes for business cards or a covered opening, and Saint-Marc only when the badge pocket is the point. Do not buy an open case and plan to stretch it into a wallet.
