Stunning vintage Bottega Veneta leopard-print pony hair/haircalf shoulder bag, crafted in Italy and exceptionally well preserved for its age. This striking archival BV design features richly patterned leopard haircalf accented with dark chocolate brown leather piping and long, slim leather shoulder straps. The structured silhouette has a large fold-over flap with magnetic closure and a spacious rear exterior pocket secured with an additional magnetic snap. The interior features a zippered pocket with Bottega Veneta branded zipper pull, original Bottega Veneta Made in Italy fabric label. The interior has been professionally restored. Vintage Bottega Veneta linings from this era are known for deterioration of the original interior coating, which can eventually peel, flake or become powdery. The deteriorated coating on this bag has been professionally removed, leaving the underlying lining soft, supple and clean with no peeling or flaking coating remaining. The original interior labels, pocket and branded hardware remain intact. Includes the original Bottega Veneta dust bag and accompanying card & pocket mirror. Overall, this bag presents beautifully. The leopard haircalf remains remarkably full and vibrant across the exterior panels. As expected with a vintage haircalf bag, there is some localized flattening/wear to the hair, particularly along contact areas and edges, along with normal vintage creasing and surface wear to the brown leather trim.
