The Fendi Selleria line is one of the greatest emblems of Italian artisanal luxury and represents the essence of the Roman house's "fatto a mano" (handmade) concept. The design of this bag stands out for its representative grained leather and the iconic visible stitching along the edges. The story began in 1925, when Adele Casagrande and her husband Edoardo Fendi opened their first boutique on Via del Plebiscito in Rome. Determined to experiment with leather goods in an unconventional way, Adele turned to the master saddlers (saddle craftsmen) of the Eternal City. This is where its name comes from: Selleria, which means "saddle" in Italian. The saddlers taught the founders manual sewing techniques and introduced the use of Cuoio Romano (Roman leather), an extremely soft, thick calfskin with a very distinctive natural grain. This became the firm's first official line of bags. The "Punto Selleria" stitch is done entirely by hand using a thick waxed thread. Each stitch is visible and deliberately artisanal, so no two bags are identical. Inside, we find a pocket with a zipper and an engraved metal plate with a unique serial number and the year 1925, certifying its exclusivity.
