RARE ARCHIVE PIECE Beautiful flat/gusseted shoulder bag by FENDI s.a.s., Made in Italy, from the mid-1970s. Purchased in Rome in the late 70s and belonged to my mother. It is an extremely rare vintage collector's model to find in this "Total Red" color (monochromatic red), much more exclusive than the classic brown version. DETAILS AND MATERIALS: Exterior: Iconic Jacquard Monogram Zucca fabric with double "FF" in tone-on-tone red. Flap closure with a red genuine leather loop and engraved FF logo. Bottom and Sides: Rigid expandable gusset structure (3 accordion compartments) in very fine striped red leather (Epi style), very durable. Interior: Internal pocket with original vintage PRENTICE branded zipper (a historic Italian supplier of luxury zips of the era) and authenticity logo embossed in gold "FENDI s.a.s. ROMA MADE IN ITALY". At that time (until 1980), there were no serial numbers or other internal labels yet. Included accessories: Sold with its ORIGINAL DUSTBAG from the era in yellow honeycomb fabric with an internal Fendi label (a true miracle it was preserved!). CONDITION (EXCELLENT VINTAGE): The bag is about 50 years old but has been kept with great care. The Jacquard fabric is intact, with no fraying or pulled threads. The leather of the gussets and bottom is supple and sound, with no cracks. The 4 corners are in exceptional condition (they only show a very slight shadow from rubbing, which is completely normal for its age, see photos). The internal Prentice zip works perfectly and is very smooth. The internal gold print is slightly faded/asymmetrical, a typical detail of the handmade marking of those years.
