Fendi's Spy bag debuted for Spring/Summer 2005 and immediately achieved something the brand hadn't seen before — a genuine waiting list. Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, its rounded shape, hidden compartments, and eye-catching hardware earned it both its playful name and major cultural visibility, with appearances by Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Gwen Stefani. This piece is the Tortuga variant, considered one of the most sought-after versions from the original production run, defined by its tortoiseshell-effect calf leather handles and tassel — the result of a specialist tanning and finishing technique that produces its distinctive amber and dark brown tones. Combined with the signature Zucca canvas and pebbled leather body, it stands as one of the most texturally rich Spy designs Fendi ever released. To mark the bag's 20th anniversary, Fendi relaunched it in 2025 with prices ranging from £3,000 to £4,900, reinforcing that the earlier originals — particularly in unusual material pairings like this one — remain the most desirable to own. Condition: Good, with wear typical of a piece this age. The tobacco Zucca canvas is in good condition, showing only mild general wear. The brown pebbled leather body is in good shape overall, with a very faint mark on the front left side that isn't immediately noticeable. The base is in good condition, free of obvious damage. The Tortuga calf leather handles are in good shape, though one shows slight creasing and surface wear. Gold-tone hardware and the spy compartment clasp are generally in good condition. Please note that the lower portion of the front Tortuga tassel is missing, clearly shown in the photos. There's also more visible wear on the leather panel located behind the front ring hardware, though this section is concealed once the bag is worn. The natural canvas interior is in very good shape, with minimal wear. The original hologram authentication tag remains present. Includes an EBV London dust bag.
