The Jackie is arguably Gucci's most frequently reworked design — first launched in the 1950s as the "Fifties Constance," later renamed once Jackie Kennedy became closely associated with it, then reimagined by Tom Ford in the early 2000s with a harder, more streamlined look, before Frida Giannini took over the design in 2006 and pushed it toward something softer and more voluminous, introducing metallic leather as a new signature material. This champagne gold example reflects that exact transition. The Sherry web stripe featured on the bag dates back to Aldo Gucci's original 1960s design, inspired by the colours of a horse's saddle girth, and appears here in a tonal champagne shade that keeps the reference subtle rather than obvious. The gold piston-hook closure, engraved with the Gucci name, ties both design eras together in one detail. Condition: Good, with signs of use typical of its age. The metallic leather exterior is in fair shape overall, while the leather around the handles, corners, and opening remains in very good condition with nothing notable to flag. Some light black surface marks appear on the front left panel, visible in the accompanying photos. The back of the bag shows only minor use. The Sherry web canvas shows some general wear, with no fraying or distortion present. Metal hardware, including the piston hook, is in very good condition with no visible wear or tarnish. The flat leather strap has light creasing but otherwise holds up well, and the buckle looks unworn. Interior remains in near-pristine condition, with very little use evident. Includes an EBV London dust bag.
