Originally launched in the 1950s as the "Fifties Constance," this design later became known as "The Jackie" thanks to Jackie Kennedy's repeated appearances with different versions of the bag. It rose to popularity through the 1960s before Tom Ford's 1999 arrival at Gucci brought it roaring back into relevance. As part of his redesign, Ford replaced the traditional rounded lock with the sleeker, industrial piston clasp featured here, giving the classic shape a distinctly modern finish. This version, done in a striking turquoise nylon with gleaming gold leather trim, reflects the bold, glamorous aesthetic Ford introduced during his years reshaping the brand — pairing casual materials with a far more luxurious edge. Condition: Good, showing wear consistent with its age. The turquoise canvas holds up reasonably well, with some light marking and slight discolouration visible. Gold leather trim has a few surface marks and light scratches scattered throughout. A more visible mark sits on the lower left of the base, shown clearly across the listing photos. Leather around the opening has developed some cracking. The strap has softened into a natural curve over time and shows clear creasing. All metal hardware, including the piston closure, remains in very good shape. Interior lining is in good condition with only light use showing. Includes an EBV London dust bag.
