Swift is a smooth, fine-grained calfskin ; the softest structured leather Hermès uses for Birkin production. Its tight, almost poreless surface displays color with exceptional depth and saturation; purples in particular read richer and more dimensional in Swift than in any grained leather. In Retourne construction, the 25 cm silhouette holds its shape but carries softer, more rounded edges than Sellier ; the leather's natural suppleness is visible at the corners and gussets.
