When Hermes' own Jean-Louis Dumas sat down next to Jane Birkin on a flight, he had no idea he was about to create history. When Jane Birkin discussed her need for a sizeable (yet chic) weekender, Dumas immediately got to work designing the perfect bag for her needs. In 1984, we were introduced to the Birkin, which would quickly become the most coveted bag in history thanks (in part) to the 48 hours it takes to hand-assemble this exquisite piece, as well as the extensive wait list you'll need to join to purchase one from stores. This iconic pre-owned authentic Birkin 30is  rendered in Natural Box leather with Amazonia coated rubber paneling and accented with gold-plated hardware. Box leather is the original leather of the house, known for its propensity to show a rich patina with repeated use. Utilizing rubber from Amazon rubber trees, the exterior rubber paneling is applied over a woven canvas, and through time and wear, cracks and discolors, creating a unique and worn-in look. Includes lock, two keys and clochette.
