Hermès HAC Birkin 32 Vibrato & Noir Box Calf Palladium Hardware Vibrato is a discontinued Hermès construction technique produced between 2000 and 2007. Thin strips of suede in varying colors are stacked horizontally and sliced through to expose the striped cross-section that defines the format, with each Vibrato panel structurally unique to its bag. Hermès has not reintroduced Vibrato in the nearly two decades since the program closed. The Haut à Courroies — French for "high with straps" — is the Hermès model that preceded and inspired the Birkin, originally designed to transport riding boots and saddles. HAC features taller, more vertical proportions than the Birkin, shorter handles, and distinctive hardware details including square-tipped spindle and tubular pontets. HAC 32 is among the rarer sizes within HAC production (most HAC bags are 40–60 cm) and combines with Vibrato construction in a doubly restricted configuration. This piece pairs the grayscale Vibrato palette — strips ranging from cream through pale grey, medium grey, and deep charcoal across the front and back panels and gusset — with smooth Noir Box Calf at the flap, top trim, sangles, handles, sides, and base. Palladium hardware completes the cooler register aligned with the grayscale palette. Condition: 2 – Excellent Stamp: Color: Noir (89) frame, grayscale Vibrato body Leather: Vibrato (stacked suede) body, Box Calf frame Hardware: Palladium Includes: Inquire Dimensions: 32 x 29 x 16 cm | 12.6" W x 11.4" H x 6.3" D · Handle Drop 8 cm | 3.1" Notes: Vibrato is discontinued construction (produced 2000–2007). Suede strips are sensitive to handling wear at slice edges. HAC handles are notably shorter than Birkin handles. Collector's Insight: HAC 32 in Vibrato construction is a doubly restricted Hermès configuration — HAC is the rarer of the Birkin/HAC pairing, with the model running in limited production relative to its Birkin descendant, and Vibrato is a discontinued technique with finite output. The grayscale palette is the more restrained Vibrato execution relative to the saturated multicolor productions that defined the program's visual identity. The Noir Box Calf frame is permanent-palette foundational pairing — Box Calf has been progressively reduced from broad Hermès production over the past decade. Resale Insight: HAC bags trade outside standard Birkin secondary-market dynamics due to the model's heritage status and restricted production. Vibrato HAC pieces are scarce within auction provenance, with Sotheby's, Christie's, and Bonhams having documented HAC Vibrato transactions as archive-tier comparables. Excellent condition with intact Vibrato strip integrity, no slice-edge fraying, and intact Box Calf frame commands the strongest positioning. » Shop Hermès Birkin » Shop Hermès Kelly » Accessory Chains » JaneFinds Condition Guide » Hermès Date Stamp Reference » Sell With JaneFinds
