When Hermes' own Jean-Louis Dumas sat down next to Jane Birkin on a flight, he had no idea he was about to create history. When Jane Birkin discussed her need for a sizeable (yet chic) weekender, Dumas immediately got to work designing the perfect bag for her needs. This authentic black Birkin is rendered in Epsom leather and accented with gold-plated hardware. Epsom leather is the most lightweight and easiest to clean of all Hermès leathers. It is embossed for a consistent grain and increased durability that will hold shape and does not scratch easily. Includes lock, two keys, and a clochette.
