A favorite among collectors, this authentic Black Birkin is crafted from Togo leather and accented with gold-plated hardware. Making its first appearance in 1997, Togo calfskin leather is one of the main leather staples at Hermès. Named after the county of Togo in West Africa, this leather is produced through a robust drumming process to bring out the natural features. Togo leather has a matte appearance with irregular, rounded grains, veining, and minor wrinkles, which can be extremely pronounced or hidden away, and are natural by-products of the leather. With strong resilience, it will become supple and softer to the touch over time. Includes lock, two keys, and a clochette.
