First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag that was referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed to the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably, while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly. This classic pre-owned authentic Hermès Kelly Sellier is crafted in Blue Indigo Courchevel leather and finished with gold-plated hardware. Courchevel leather is now retired by Hermès, but was the predecessor to Epsom leather. Like Epsom, Courchevel leather has an embossed even grain and is lightweight and easy to clean. Includes shoulder strap, two keys, lock, and clochette.
