First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag that was referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed to the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably, while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly. This classic pre-owned authentic Hermès Kelly Sellier is crafted from Blue Thalassa Chamonix leather, finished with Palladium-plated hardware. Chamonix leather is a matte, smooth calf leather similar to Box Calf. Includes shoulder strap, two keys, lock, and clochette.
