When Hermès' own Jean-Louis Dumas sat down next to Jane Birkin on a flight, he had no idea he was about to create history. When Jane Birkin discussed her need for a sizeable (yet chic) weekender, Dumas immediately got to work designing the perfect bag for her needs. This authentic Etoupe Birkin 40 is rendered in Togo leather and accented with Palladium-plated hardware. Togo leather is a thick and durable calfskin with a medium grain known for its resilience to scratches and ability to be repaired easily. Includes lock, two keys, and a clochette.
