A vintage Kelly 28 as canvas. The base is Noir Box Sellier, Hermès' original smooth calfskin, chosen deliberately: Box takes pigment with a saturation and edge definition that grained leathers cannot hold, and its semi-gloss surface makes the color sit up rather than sink in. The JANEFINDS Custom Shop commissioned hand-painted artwork across the front, sides, back, and flap, working the black leather as negative space rather than covering it. "The Qashqai" takes its name from the nomadic weaving traditions...
