The vintage Hermès Kelly 32 from 1966 belongs without hesitation to this second category: those rare pieces that carry, in every stitch and every shade of leather, the memory of a bicentennial house from the Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The gold-plated hardware, also patinated by time, retains all its nobility: padlock engraved "Hermès" with the key placed on the front, leather pull and clochette enclosing the two original keys, side plates with edges slightly softened by the decades. Opening the bag, secured by the famous system of crossed straps closed by the front plate and the Hermès padlock, reveals a perfectly preserved black lambskin interior, structured around its lined main compartment and its two patch pockets, one of which is zipped. The bag has been carefully rehydrated by us before being put on sale: the marks and stains present during its time in the auction room have been considerably mitigated, restoring some of its original splendor to this Kelly.
