Description: A rare and highly collectible Vintage Hermès Sac Mallette travel case from the 1950s ( maybe older)crafted in classic black Box Calf leather with gold-tone hardware. The leather has a beautiful patina. This structured, dual-compartment case was designed for secure transport of documents, valuables, or personal effects and remains an iconic example of Hermes craftsmanship. NO keys. Details: • Material: Black Box Calf leather • Hardware: Gold-tone push locks, clasp closure, and lock mechanisms • Handle: Single rolled leather top handle • Compartments: Two independent storage sections Top Compartment: • Opens via two side sliding latches and a central push button • Interior stamped HERMÈS PARIS in gold • Red leather lining with multiple organizing pockets Lower Compartment: • Secured with Hermès Paris stamped central lock ( note that the latch “ screws are slightly loose and thus the plate is not on tightly- still works but it’s something Hermes can eventually fix). • Deep red velvet lining see photos- some stains on the underside of cushion • No keys • Leather Exterior: Visible surface scuffs, scratches, nicks and marks throughout from decades of handling and storage. Finish remains attractive with the natural patina expected of vintage Box Calf. • Edges & Corners: Moderate wear and rubbing; some edge darkening and smoothing from use. Large nick at bottom on back side - see photo • Hardware: Tarnish, patina, and light oxidation present; typical for original vintage Hermès hardware. Locks function but no keys. • Handle & Structure: Structurally sound and sturdy; handle secure with normal age wear. • Interior — Upper Section: General wear, scuffs, and nicks. Interior pocket snap is worn and does not hold securely. • Interior - Lower Section: Red velvet lining shows age, stains on underside- wear, and marks . • Odor: none • Overall: Well-preserved structurally but clearly pre-owned, with honest wear and patina.
