Rare Vintage Judith Leiber champagne/ gold Ostrich clutch/ evening bag Related to museum archived examples shown in reference photos. This example belongs to one of the house’s most recognizable architectural frame designs — the same sculptural Art Deco-inspired silhouette seen in museum in New York and archive examples of Judith Leiber’s work. Far rarer than the soft exotic clutches commonly found on the secondary market, this piece represents the height of late-century Judith Leiber craftsmanship: substantial gilt metalwork, structured construction, hand-finished exotic skin, and jewel-like detailing throughout. The use of genuine ostrich alone placed these bags among the most expensive evening accessories of their era, produced in very limited numbers and intended for a private luxury clientele. The warm metallic champagne tone is especially striking and considerably less common than standard black or silver examples. The gold variation is much harder to find than the silver. Retains its original Judith Leiber accessories, including mirror, comb, and dust bags. The last two pictures.
