Louis Vuitton Monogram Chantilly GM - Vintage approx. 1979. The bag itself is in very good condition, however the straps have some cracks, but the bag can still be worn crossbody. The leather interior is excellent, no stains, just some very light scratches (see photos). This bag may be 47 years old, but it looks much younger! I can't find a serial number, but the zipper is ECLAIR brand, which LV used before 1980. As it was released before Louis Vuitton introduced its date code system in the early 1980s, Chantilly bags made between 1978 and 1980 will not have a date code. How to check a pre-1980 Chantilly GM: ...The zipper: Look closely at the hardware on the interior pocket. Pre-1980 models typically use vintage third-party zippers from brands like ECLAIR or Talon, rather than the modern "LV" stamped zippers used today.
