Defined by its distinctive construction, the bag appears to be entirely wrapped in white cotton fabric. The raw texture of the cloth, loosely tied ribbon detail, and intentionally obscured silhouette reflect the deconstructive aesthetic that characterized early Maison Martin Margiela designs. The name “The Houssé” itself derives from the French word meaning “cover” or “protective cloth,” embodying Margiela’s recurring philosophy of concealing and disguising objects through design. The exterior features a removable white cotton cover, while the interior is finished in black cowhide leather, creating a striking contrast in both texture and atmosphere.
