Moschino Couture Milano handbag from the autumn/winter 2017-2018 "Rataporter" collection, in 100% multi-coloured leather. CONDITION/SIZE🔽 For this collection, the designer Jérémy Scott wanted to boldly reaffirm the spirit of the Moschino Label, which is embodied in humour and through an unconventional creativity in fashion. Haute couture, sometimes too prim or sophisticated, can here be expressed with irony or contradiction. A decidedly trashy collection on the theme of cardboard, on the idea of reusing worn and discarded materials, hence the theme "Rataporter," a play on words between rat and ready-to-wear. Here we see a medium to large bag, of a "bucket bag" design, for handbag or shoulder wear. Extremely smooth, rather soft leather, entirely painted. You can see fine blisters on the leather material which enhance the "worn cardboard bag" trompe l'oeil effect. The bag is made of 4 connected panels, like the front and back faces which are lined internally for better hold over time and which meet at a central seam reinforced with double topstitching, to create a greater effect of depth. All the edges connecting the leather pieces were initially raw cuts of leather, then coated with a black finishing seal. Square-shaped bag, which has silver-tone metal eyelets near the top edges of the front and back faces, as well as on the sides, through which the raw-cut leather drawstrings pass. When you use the sliding element, only the sides benefit from this tightening action, changing from a rectangular to a triangular profile through a gusset that hollows at the top, while developing generous blisters at the bottom. The leather paint is of high quality, giving the illusion of a bag made from crumpled or slightly worn cardboard, with the term "recycle" and its symbol in black writing on the back, with a slightly faded effect. On the front, also in black, is written "Moschino Milano" accompanied by one of the label's logos. Light brown background colour and a "mocha" shade wrinkle pattern everywhere. Handles are intentionally folded at the top to give them rigidity and a nice curve with a black jointed edge. Interior in black satin fabric with a zipped wall pocket and its silver-tone metal puller engraved "Moschino Milano", but also a leather pouch mentioning the terms of authenticity written in silver, such as "Made in Italy/Moschino Milano". Two internal rings to attach the magnificent shoulder strap, a chain of thick twisted silver-tone metal links, which has a leather shoulder rest. Removable shoulder strap thanks to its snap hooks. Non-original dust bag provided. 🪞Condition "very good" for the general state, I classify the bag as "good condition". Indeed, although it was little used, the bag was worn over a long jacket decorated with sequins and beads, which left some very gentle and barely visible marks, which are not aesthetically bothersome since the bag imitates a damaged trompe-l'oeil cardboard! Captioned in photos: small indentations and scratches on the front and underneath, for example on the logo, 4 micro-cracks on the handles at the natural fold points (I applied special black leather paint to restore them). Presence of a melted mark on one handle. Raw cut on the drawstrings. A little bit of pilling and rare rubbing on the side.
