Vintage Moschino handbag from the luxury label Redwall collaboration, made of patent leather and metal, multi-colored. 🔽CONDITION/SIZE Bag made from high-end patent leather, a sanded calfskin for a very smooth look, dyed and finished with a glossy resin coating. The shiny black tone evokes a tuxedo or a lacquered piano, making the gold metal hardware stand out without looking excessive. The red tone provides a glossy carmine red, deep and luminous, revealing ruby reflections depending on the light. This sophisticated red recalls Maserati or Ferrari leather interiors, prestigious book bindings, or high-end jewelry boxes. Franco Moschino loved taking familiar everyday objects and transforming them with a touch of irony: a gift wrap dress, a trash can-shaped bag. He played with our perception and established contrasts: classic/fantasy, serious/irony, luxury/popular object. The bag is full of this Moschino vocabulary; it is a conceptual object referring to 80s Italian design that sought geometry: metal is very present, colors are bold, the look is architectural, volumes are sharp, everything is designed to spark curiosity and technical requirement. Influences: Art Deco through the graphic gold fittings, the black/gold contrast recalling 1920-1930s jewelry. Small-sized handbag, square shape, classic and refined when closed but reveals an unexpected architecture once opened. The bag consists of two compartments that each retain their chromatic identity, a graphic composition made possible by a very original metal structure offering an opening like a diptych. The outer panels show a front panel in red patent leather with a stylized gold metal heart. A back panel in black leather features at the lower level a gold metal plate engraved with "Moschino Bags/Made in Italy by Redwall". The internal walls of each bag are lined with patent leather in their respective colors. These bags feature long cylindrical metal rods covered in patent leather along their top width. Opening principle: observe the profiles, at the ends of the metal structure, a hexagonal hinge and a hexagonal clasp are mounted, both designed specially for this playful bag. They orchestrate a metamorphosis: the mechanical lock unlocks two independent modules that spread out like a fan. A removable and adjustable shoulder strap, in two-tone patent leather, black exterior and red interior, echoes the chromatic duality. Non-original dust bag provided. 🪞Condition "good condition" vintage, used a few times with a long, non-optimal storage period. The interior surfaces of the compartments and the leather of the frames remained squeezed against each other for a long time, so the patent leather color of one marked the other. I have cleaned it well, but micro-scratches and fine faded traces remain, the shine has also faded in these areas. The general gold metal is slightly micro-scratched or patinated and a hinge shoulder strap ring is less straight, therefore slightly bent, which does not cause any usage problems. The entire bag has small support marks, micro-scratches, or faded traces, rare irregular stitching.
