The Polène “Pai” limited edition 2024 is one of the most artistic and experimental creations of the French house, conceived as a statement piece rather than a simple bag. It is a sculptural mini bag inspired by a bale of straw, which transforms a rural and everyday object into a contemporary luxury accessory. The rigid structure originates from a wooden core covered in leather, while the exterior is covered in natural fibre (raffia or vegetable fibres from Madagascar) which gives it that 'raw but refined' look typical of the project. The tan leather details wrap the shape like decorative ropes, recalling the ties of hay bales. The result is a balance between traditional craftsmanship and conceptual design, very recognizable in the Polène language. It is also an extremely exclusive bag: production was limited (about 200 pieces), intended as a collector's edition and not as a continuous model.
