The Row Margaux Bag: Sizes, Prices and What to Know

Design, closure and pockets

The belted side gussets give the Margaux its broad, curved profile. You can loosen the buckles for a wider opening or tighten them to draw the sides in. The toggle joins the top edges, but it does not seal the bag; a wallet or phone is safer in an interior pocket or pouch when you travel through a crowd.

On current grained-calf product pages, the 10 has one card slot. The 12 and 15 have two card slots and one zipped pocket. The Row lists cotton herringbone lining and protective metal feet on these versions. Pocket layouts can vary on older resale bags, so check the individual listing.

Margaux 10 vs 12 vs 15 vs 17

The Row measures each Soft Margaux by width, height and depth. The jump from 12 to 15 adds three inches of width and changes the carry method: you lose the removable shoulder strap.

The 12 is the most flexible choice for a daily bag because it has a strap without the bulk of the 15. The 15 gives you substantially more depth, but its 6-inch handle drop is short for comfortable shoulder carry over a coat. The 17 is larger again; The Row’s size guide lists it, but we did not find a current U.S. product price for that size.

Will a laptop fit?

The 15 measures 15 inches across the outside and has no padded computer sleeve. A slim laptop may fit, but the bag narrows toward the opening; test the laptop in its sleeve before relying on it for work. The 12 is better treated as an everyday bag for a tablet and small items than as a laptop bag.

Leather, suede and care

Matte grained calfskin has a pebbled surface that makes light marks less conspicuous. The Row says this leather can darken with light and should be kept away from liquids. Polished saddle leather appears on older Margaux versions and shows scratches more readily.

The current U.S. pages checked show black and dark taupe in grained calfskin, plus black and mocha suede. Those are examples of listed colors, not a permanent palette; an older resale bag may use a different leather, shade or hardware finish.

Suede changes the bag’s look: the surface is matte and the body falls more softly. It also needs more care. The Row advises keeping its suede away from liquids and using a suede brush gently for light dirt. Store either material in its dust bag, supported from inside so the base keeps its shape; do not hang a full bag by its handles.

Current U.S. Margaux prices

The Row publishes U.S. prices on its product pages. As checked September 23, 2026, grained calfskin costs $3,650 for the 10, $4,350 for the 12 and $4,700 for the 15. Suede costs $4,550 for the 12 and $4,900 for the 15. Color and finish can change the price; these figures apply to the versions linked below.

The Row’s size guide still includes the 17, but a current U.S. price for it was not available on the product pages checked. Resale listings for a 17 should therefore be compared by the exact material, condition and year rather than against a guessed retail price.

What preowned Margauxs cost

Two live asking prices show why a blanket resale percentage is misleading. On August 8, 2026, a black grained-calf Soft Margaux 15 in excellent condition was listed on Fashionphile for $5,605. On August 26, a used brown suede 15 was listed on The RealReal for $5,180. Both were above the current U.S. price of the comparable new material, but neither asking price proves what a bag actually sold for.

Where to buy and how to catch a restock

The Row sells Margaux bags on its own site and through its boutiques. The checked U.S. product pages for the 10, 12 and 15 were sold out when this guide was updated. A saved product page still shows the version and price you want, but it does not hold a bag for you.

For preowned bags, Fashionphile and The RealReal provide condition photos and seller-specific return terms. Read those terms before checkout and ask for additional photos if the base, handles or interior toggle are not shown. A lower asking price is less useful if the bag has heavy corner wear or is missing its removable strap.

Which Margaux should you buy?

Buy the 12 if you want the Margaux shape in a bag you can carry by hand or on your shoulder. Choose the 10 for a smaller load. The 15 makes sense when you need its extra space and are comfortable carrying it by the handles. If a zipper, laptop protection or built-in organization is essential, compare a different work bag before paying for the Margaux.
