This is the bag that started it all. Nicolas Ghesquière designed the original motorcycle shape for Balenciaga back in 2001, crafting something that looked worn-in and reclaimed even when brand new — distressed goatskin, braided tassels, and pewter hardware, each detail lifted from workwear and reworked into a genuinely new kind of luxury item. Known as "The First," this is the smallest and earliest version of the motorcycle range, capturing that original spirit in its purest form. Pink was a deliberately unexpected choice within the lineup, softening what is otherwise a rugged, hard-edged design while keeping its attitude intact — a pairing that's remained one of the most desirable from Ghesquière's era, precisely because it sits somewhere between tough and delicate rather than picking a side. Condition: Good, with wear that reflects real use over time. The leather exterior holds up reasonably well, though there's some greying and light discolouration across the back panel, visible in the photos provided. The tassels show light discolouration consistent with age. There's some light wear on the base and light scuffing at the corners. The top handles have darkened slightly underneath from age and handling. A dark mark appears near the top front of the bag, just beneath the zip, and is visible in the listing photos. Interior is close to pristine, with only the faintest trace of use. The mirror remains in good condition. Comes with the original Balenciaga dust bag and interior mirror.
