Special authentic vintage Delvaux Arpège in slate blue "jumping" grained leather with gold-tone hardware. Designed by Madame Naiken for the Les Harmoniques de Delvaux collection, 1996, with the original dust bag and mirror. The interior has a beige leather lining with an interior zip pocket. It has four thin leather straps with an 11-inch drop. Dimensions: 13.5" L × 10" H × 4.5" D Stamp: DELVAUX BRUXELLES, Handmade in Belgium Includes: Delvaux dust bag and mirror Condition Notes — Good Please carefully examine all detailed photos — not all flaws are necessarily mentioned in the condition notes below, and I will be happy to send additional photos upon request. The wear on this bag is on the raised edges, the straps, and the corners — the places that experience friction. The flat panels of the front, back, and base retain their grain and color well; the edges of the gussets, the edges of the straps, and the edge of the flap have color loss. This is partly by design - depending on how you wear it (straps inside or outside the flap), the straps or the flap get rubbed. On the straps, the pale substrate is visible along the edges of the straps in strips, and more heavily where the straps enter the side edges. The leather is intact — finish wear, not fiber damage. One side edge has opened at its upper folded edge, exposing the substrate inside (see photo). It is load-bearing and the strap is secure. Scratches and pigment loss along the raised edges of the gussets. Pigment loss along the top edge of the flap. Edge wear at the corners. Slight brown discoloration at the interior seams of the gussets. The leather-covered mirror is present but is losing its silvering. The leather case is intact. Well-preserved: the gold-tone hardware is shiny and not pitted throughout, the magnetic closure is firm, the zipper works well, the beige leather lining is clean, the hot stamping is crisp, and the bag retains its structure without sagging at the gussets. This bag is a beautiful piece of history but probably not for daily use - besides being a rare 30-year-old vintage bag, it is also heavy!
