A beautiful early vintage Louis Vuitton Chantilly PM in the iconic Monogram Canvas. With its distinctive rounded silhouette, elegant buckle closure and adjustable shoulder strap, the Chantilly is one of Louis Vuitton’s most charming classic crossbody designs. This is an early example from the pre-date-code era, making it a particularly lovely piece for those who appreciate authentic vintage Louis Vuitton. Condition Beautiful vintage condition with a warm, naturally developed patina and plenty of authentic character. The Monogram Canvas presents beautifully, with a rich colour, clear pattern and a nicely preserved overall shape. The Vachetta leather has developed an attractive honey-toned patina with natural signs of wear. The adjustable shoulder strap presents nicely and remains fully functional. The leather closure strap at the front shows some superficial age-related cracking to the surface. It remains stable and can be used normally, with the buckle closure functioning as intended. The interior presents nicely for its age. The zipped inner pocket shows some typical vintage changes to the lining, but importantly it is dry, the zipper works properly and the pocket remains fully usable – something increasingly difficult to find on vintage Chantilly bags from this period. Overall, a particularly charming and well-preserved vintage Chantilly PM with a beautiful authentic patina and a very attractive overall appearance.
