Moschino Couture Milano backpack from the Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 collection, made of 💯% black leather. CONDITION/SIZE🔽 The bag is distinguished by its level of excellence, the extreme quality of the materials, and the technical rigor of its construction. The influences for this design are numerous, like the Italian luxury of the 1980s which featured jewelry-like bags, and Hollywood glamour with the gold-tone Moschino metal plate that recalls the bold accessories of the 1980s-1990s. To deliberately break the classic side of the backpack and give it eccentricity, a final "rock" influence comes from the chic gothic skeleton tassel, inspired by biker jewelry. A backpack made from natural full-grain lambskin, it is a fine and tender skin with a slight grain and a supple finish. Soft and tender to the touch, this leather has a satin carbon black or natural lacquered black color that, combined with the very present hardware, reveals a luxurious contrast. This soft feel is expressed through a sculptural quilted aesthetic of the bag; it is a method used in luxury leather goods which consists of inserting high-density foam between two leather panels to create an all-over raised "capitonné" pattern with topstitching on the exposed surfaces. In contrast, the method used by industrial brands consists of not adding padding and directly applying the decorative topstitching. The visual result of the tufted pattern obtained by the black thread topstitching is sophisticated, harmonious, and innovative; indeed, Moschino could have opted for a classic diamond or square quilting, but here Jeremy Scott chose to work with vertical bands. The leather harmoniously conforms to the quilted volumes; the bands highlight it by their width as light glides over them, and their verticality elongates the bag's silhouette. The urban and compact backpack has an oval base with a semi-rigid internal structure, covered in smooth leather, with piping around its perimeter that reinforces the seat; the bag stands up on its own! The body of the bag takes on the silhouette of a slightly trapezoidal bucket bag, giving it a stable and elegant look. A generously padded, curved body, a top collar necessary for opening and closing the bag, equipped with multiple gold-tone metal eyelets that allow for the insertion of leather drawstrings and their sliding piece. When tightened, the leather does not wrinkle; the folds are distributed evenly, creating a balanced drape. The upper edge forms a deliberate tubular bead to ensure it holds its shape when open and to prevent sagging when the drawstrings are loosened. Below the drawstring collar, there is a small square sewn leather patch, on which a metal turn-lock clasp is mounted for additional security. On this small leather patch, there is a tab that connects a second decorative element: a spectacular gothic rock tassel made of a giant tubular bead in galvanic gold metal, sculpted in relief with the word Moschino, it is trimmed with multiple black leather fringes and galvanic gold metal beads representing the flat bones of a skeleton hand; they are connected by small rings so the hand is articulated. A flap constructed like a true independent leather goods piece, it has a rounded shape, and generous padding arranged in 3 large cushions that maintain the same verticality as those on the bag's body. To provide a sophisticated finish, each side of the flap features a thinner cushion. First, on top, we discover a magnificent hand-carry handle made of a chain of small links intertwined with leather, its ends are attached to small locking tips set in eyelets, all in galvanic gold metal. A galvanic gold metal plate reading "Moschino" sits on the front of the flap, screwed to another plate on the flat leather reverse side of the flap. The turn-lock clasp fits into the second 'O' of the Moschino plate. On the back of the bag's body, we can see that towards the top there is a horizontal leather piece that helps to anchor the flap securely to the bag and plays the same role for the shoulder straps. Substantial shoulder straps that can be said to symbolize the most luxurious elements of the bag: From the base of the straps up to 3/4 of their length, we see large curb chains with twisted links in galvanic gold metal, braided with black leather ties that are held at the end in a pentagonal leather piece acting as an intermediary with the second part of the adjustable straps: a perforated black leather belt. Small galvanic gold metal buckles with leather loops are attached to black leather tabs directly set into the lower seams of the bag's body profiles; they are necessary for inserting the strap belts. Interior in black satin fabric, zipped wall pocket with its gold metal charm engraved "Moschino Milano", small leather pocket with gold painted logo "Moschino Milano/made in Italy". A non-original dust bag is provided and the authenticity card is present. 🪞Condition is very good as the bag has been used a few times. As a reminder for luxury leather goods, minor irregularities or stray threads may appear. The leather shows slight natural creases because, I repeat, it is not glued to the foam in the lining which gives it character; there are rare scuffs, faint pressures marks such as on the base, the flap or the front (photo). The galvanic gold metal is in very good condition, shiny, no patina, slight general micro-scratches except for the plate under the flap which shows more marked scratches (photo) and slight patina (gold tone is fading) only on the turn-lock clasp. The interior fabric has been cleaned but rare traces of dust and a faint pressure mark on the leather pocket may remain.
