Hermès American Dream at a glance
Hermès American Dream is a two-level boutique in The Avenue at the East Rutherford mall. It is open Monday through Saturday, and the clearest driving plan is Parking Deck D, Level Gold. The store is closed Sunday, even when other parts of the mall are open.
The address is 1 American Dream Way, Suite F115, East Rutherford, NJ 07073; the phone number is +1 201-487-1111. This is the current home of the former Riverside mall boutique, which moved in 2021. Check the Hermès store listing before setting out, especially near a holiday.
Hours, address and quick facts
Plan around the boutique’s own schedule, rather than the mall’s attraction hours. Hermès lists the following regular hours as of September 19, 2026.

The Hermès page supplies the address, hours, phone, parking recommendation and appointment policy; the American Dream directory places the boutique in The Avenue on Levels 1 and 2. Holiday hours may differ.
Where to find the boutique inside American Dream
Set your navigation to American Dream Parking Deck D Gold, then follow mall signs toward The Avenue. Both Hermès and the mall directions page point drivers to Deck D–Gold. The available public directions do not identify a numbered exterior door, so Deck D should not be mistaken for an “Entrance D.”
The boutique spans two levels of The Avenue. Allow time to get from the garage or bus stop to Suite F115, particularly if you have a booked appointment. If a step-free route or nearby accessible space matters to you, call the boutique and mall for the exact route before traveling.
Sunday closing and Bergen County shopping rules
Do not plan a Sunday Hermès visit here. The boutique page lists Sunday as closed. Bergen County has Sunday sales restrictions covering clothing and wearing apparel, but their application to American Dream was contested in 2026. Whatever the legal outcome, the boutique’s own published hours govern a visit. The mall’s attractions and transit service may follow different Sunday schedules.
For a Sunday Hermès visit, Princeton currently lists noon–5 p.m. and Meatpacking lists 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Recheck each boutique’s page on your travel day.
Parking and transit from Manhattan
Deck D–Gold is the practical parking target. The mall operator’s parking information indexed on September 19, 2026 listed the first 15 minutes free, then $6 per vehicle for a regular visit. MetLife Stadium event-day rates may differ, so check the operator’s page again before driving. Current valet arrangements are not established in the public store information.
From Manhattan, NJ Transit Route 355 guidance sends travelers from Port Authority Bus Terminal, Gate 305, directly to American Dream. The bus ride is under 30 minutes in normal traffic, but that excludes waiting at Port Authority and finding The Avenue after arrival. Weekday departures are limited, so check the current timetable before booking a boutique appointment.
Appointments and a first visit
You may walk in: Hermès explicitly says an appointment is not required. If you want time to discuss a particular department, use the Hermès appointment portal or call +1 201-487-1111. A booking schedules a visit; it does not reserve a handbag, a particular associate or immediate access to stock.
Bring a concrete question or a short list of pieces you would enjoy owning: a shoe size, scarf design, fragrance, home item or bag style. Ask what is available that day and whether the store handles any service you need. There is no published American Dream dress code, and wearing Hermès is not a condition of entry.
What the store carries and what to confirm by phone
The store description lists apparel, handbags, scarves, home goods, fragrances and shoes. It also marks beauty and Apple products as available. These are categories, not a live inventory list: a handbag department does not mean a particular Birkin, Kelly, Picotin or color is on hand.
If you are bringing an item for repair, personalization or watch service, call first. The public location page does not say which of those services American Dream accepts. The same applies to a specific size or configuration worth a long trip.
From Riverside to a larger two-level store
Hermès says its Bergen County store opened at Riverside in 2007 and moved to American Dream in September 2021. The new boutique covers more than 700 square meters—over 7,500 square feet—across two levels, more than triple the former store’s selling area. Those figures come from Hermès’s 2021 annual report. If an older map or article sends you to Riverside in Hackensack, it is pointing to the former address.
The extra space gives visitors more room to browse the listed categories. It says nothing about current stock or the chance of a particular handbag offer.
Birkin, Kelly and other handbag questions
You can ask about handbags on a first visit. The boutique lists the category but publishes no live stock, so ask what is available that day if you want a non-quota style. A booked appointment does not reserve a Birkin or Kelly. Some American Dream shoppers report quota-bag offers, but their experiences do not establish what another visitor can expect.
There is no published American Dream prespend number or guaranteed timeline for a Birkin or Kelly. The boutique also publishes no rule about whether online purchases, leather goods or shopping at the former Riverside location count toward an offer. Set a budget for pieces you would keep regardless of a bag offer. For the broader terms and bag categories, read our Hermès quota bag guide and Kelly bag guide.
If you also shop Hermès online, BagUSeek’s free Hermès bag restock alerts can notify you in seconds when tracked bags appear on the US site. Online alerts are a separate way to watch online inventory; they do not secure or influence a Birkin or Kelly boutique offer.
New Jersey sales tax on a Hermès purchase
New Jersey’s general sales-tax rate is 6.625%. Its sales-tax guide generally exempts qualifying clothing and footwear, including many shoes and head or neck scarves, while listing handbags, wallets, cosmetics, jewelry and watches as taxable. A Hermès handbag is therefore not tax-free simply because the boutique is in New Jersey.
If tax treatment changes what you intend to buy, ask about the specific item at checkout. A retail sales-tax refund for international visitors is not established in the state guidance.

Operational details were checked September 19, 2026 against the Hermès American Dream listing, American Dream directory, mall directions, NJ Transit guidance, and Route 355 schedule. Hermès’s boutique schedule controls the Sunday answer even when a general transit or mall page describes Sunday activity.
Store history comes from Hermès’s annual report; Sunday-law context from Wyckoff township; and tax details from the New Jersey tax guide. Bag reports are individual accounts, including PurseForum’s opening-month discussion and a 2026 Reddit thread. Recheck hours, parking terms, transit schedules and holiday changes before traveling.
