Hermès Short Hills is on the Upper Level of The Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey, near Neiman Marcus. Its regular boutique hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and it is closed Sunday. If you are coming for a particular department or a repair, call before making the trip.
It is a full Hermès boutique with leather goods, clothing, shoes, silk, jewelry, beauty, home and equestrian categories. The store publishes no spending threshold for a Birkin or Kelly. For your visit, use the boutique listing for current hours and the Simon mall directory for wayfinding.

Which New Jersey boutique is this?
Short Hills is the postal city in the official boutique address; the mall property is in Millburn Township. Searches for “Hermès Millburn” can lead to the same mall, but the store is named Hermès Short Hills.
Hermès has separate New Jersey listings at American Dream in East Rutherford and Palmer Square in Princeton. Neither is a second Short Hills entrance. The current Short Hills space opened in November 2020 after the store moved within the mall; Hermès had been in the mall since 2011.
The 2020 boutique was designed on one floor with a green tiled façade and distinct areas for leather, fashion, silk, watches, jewelry and home. Contemporary reports disagreed about its size: the Hermès release described 4,424 square feet of retail space, while WWD called it an 8,010-square-foot shop. One figure describes retail space; the other describes the shop as a whole.
Appointments, walk-ins and contacting the store
The exact Short Hills listing does not display an online appointment button. That leaves the current booking method unclear; the general Hermès appointment website does not confirm that this boutique accepts online bookings. Call +1 973-376-6843 and ask how the store is handling visits on your date.
A March 2026 shopper described a walk-in visit, but that does not promise entry without a wait. A June 2024 forum account described a queue and controlled entry, while another visitor reported a short wait later that year. A call before traveling is more useful than relying on one visitor’s wait time.
The call is especially useful if you need to discuss a department, arrange accessibility support, bring an item for repair or confirm a holiday schedule. Staff may discuss availability, but a phone call is not a reservation for a high-demand bag.
Parking, transit and accessibility
Simon places the store on the Upper Level near Neiman Marcus. The mall has broad parking areas, and the Neiman Marcus side is the useful landmark when driving. Simon does not identify a numbered exterior door for Hermès. The mall lists valet outside Neiman Marcus at $20 per car. Simon does not publish a current self-parking charge on that page, so check the posted signs.
Without a car, Simon suggests the Morris & Essex rail line to Summit, followed by NJ Transit Bus 70 or a taxi. Bus 70 from Newark arrives by Nordstrom, on a different side of the mall; allow an interior walk to the Upper Level near Neiman Marcus. Check the current NJ Transit planner for schedules and connections.
Simon lists accessible parking near compliant entrances and complimentary wheelchair rental through mall security. The 2020 boutique was described as a single-floor space, but specific current doorway and fitting-room accommodations were not documented. Call the mall or boutique for an individual access need.
What can you shop and service here?
The current store and mall descriptions cover handbags and other leather goods, women’s and men’s clothing and shoes, scarves and ties, watches and fine jewelry, beauty and fragrance, home objects and equestrian goods. The category list describes the store, not what is in stock on a given afternoon. If you need a specific size, fragrance or watch band, ask before traveling.
Under Hermès’s U.S. repair policy, you can bring an Hermès item to a store for examination. A consultant can give an estimate and expected timing after assessment; it does not mean Short Hills performs every repair on site. Hermès also allows bespoke requests to begin in a store, but no Short Hills-specific menu or same-day personalization service is published.
The store page does not list payment methods or in-store return terms. If a particular tender, return condition or cross-store exchange matters, ask before checkout.
Birkin, Kelly and purchase history at Short Hills
Hermès says each store selects an assortment that changes, and it directs customers to discuss availability locally. The Short Hills page does not publish a Birkin or Kelly waitlist, spending threshold or offer timetable. A spending target cannot guarantee an offer.
The dated shopper accounts differ. In a March 2026 Short Hills thread, one person said they were close to twice a desired bag’s price in prior spending without a quota-bag offer; another described two offers over more than three years at roughly one-to-one spending. Neither account establishes a spending threshold for another shopper.
Non-quota bags are also subject to the day’s inventory. In a March 2026 Short Hills discussion, a shopper reported buying a Picotin 18 on a first visit. In a separate comparison thread opened in 2024, a later commenter, observed around early 2026, said an Evelyne 23 was unavailable during one of several Short Hills visits. Ask what is available and buy items you actually want. A prior customer’s purchase is neither a reservation nor a promise.
There is no published Short Hills rule explaining whether online purchases, another boutique’s purchase history, leather-goods spending or a change of associate affects offers. The quota bag guide explains the broader system without assigning a store-specific threshold.
New Jersey sales tax and a first-visit plan
New Jersey’s general sales-tax rate is 6.625% as of June 2026. State guidance generally exempts qualifying clothing and footwear, while handbags, wallets, jewelry and watches are taxable accessories. A New York resident does not get a tax-free bag merely by shopping in New Jersey; delivery to another state may create different tax obligations.
Start by confirming the boutique hours and visit method. Navigate to the Upper Level near Neiman Marcus, browse the departments you came for and ask directly about available items or repair intake. If you have a specific bag in mind, give useful preferences such as model, size and color, while allowing for stock to change. Keep the trip worthwhile even if the bag you want is unavailable.
For online inventory, BagUSeek’s free Hermès bag restock alerts can help you watch for bags listed on the U.S. website. Online alerts are a separate shopping channel; they do not secure a boutique Birkin or Kelly offer.
Short Hills versus other nearby stores
Choose the boutique that fits the visit you can actually make. Short Hills has published Monday–Saturday hours and a broad mall parking area; Princeton and Manhattan’s Meatpacking boutique list Sunday hours. American Dream is a separate New Jersey mall boutique. Madison Avenue and Greenwich are different destinations with their own admission details.
A bigger store or a different ZIP code does not establish better Birkin or Kelly odds. If your immediate goal is to browse a department, compare hours and travel. If it is a particular bag, expect stock and offer decisions to remain uncertain wherever you shop.

Visit details were checked against the Hermès Short Hills listing, Simon store directory and mall information page on September 18, 2026. Store history comes from Hermès’s 2020 release.
New Jersey tax details come from the state tax agency. The March 2026 Short Hills discussion and the separate comparison thread opened in 2024 supply the dated bag examples. Those shoppers’ experiences do not set store policy.
